Quick answer
How do you convert a PNG to JPG?
Drop your PNG file into the converter, pick a quality (90% by default) and a background color for transparent areas, then download the JPG. For example, screenshot.png becomes screenshot.jpg, usually much lighter for a photo. The conversion runs in your browser, with nothing uploaded to a server.

|---|---|---|
| Compression | Lossless | Lossy (adjustable) |
| Transparency | Yes | No |
| Best for | Logos, screenshots, text | Photos, web, email |
| Size of a photo | Large | Small |
About the PNG to JPG Converter
What is it?
The PNG to JPG converter turns your PNG images into JPG files, a lighter format accepted everywhere. You can convert up to 20 images at once, set the quality and choose the color that will replace transparent areas.
Why use it?
PNG is ideal for logos and screenshots, but it is often heavy for photos. Some online forms, printers and platforms also only accept JPG. Converting to JPG reduces image size, speeds up a website and makes images easier to send by email.
How does it work?
Each image is drawn in your browser on a background of the chosen color, then re-encoded as JPG at the quality you set. JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels take the background color. Nothing is uploaded to a server: the files stay on your device.
Usage tips
- Keep the quality between 80 and 92%: above that, the file grows a lot for a barely visible gain
- For a logo with transparency, choose the background color of the page where it will be shown
- Screenshots with a lot of text often stay sharper in PNG: compare both before choosing
- Convert all your images in one go, then download the ZIP to save time
- To shrink the files further, run your JPGs through the image compressor afterwards
